All in My Own Time
All in my own time and in my own way,
Firm in the ignorance that all I say
Is a dream, unempowered to display
The wit and wonder of this keen bright day.
And I met a man
And I met a man
And he had two wings.
He brought a message
From the king of kings
And he held my hand, He said “Listen, boy,
I’ve got a letter From the land of joy”.
Falling from the sky,
Soaring from the sea,
A man who had wings Made a friend of me.
He heard me wonder What on earth to do.
He never told me What on earth to do.
He heard my wishes.
The air drowns fishes
And down in the gloaming
Of the dying day
Went wobbling away
And you looked at me.
Then did mystery
Have some certainty
And he flew too high
For my little sky
So I’m moving on.
